Fudgy Chocolate Brownies

img_5048

I can’t believe that this is the first ever brownie post to appear on this blog – I’m a complete sucker for all things chocolate so this go to recipe ticks all the boxes. Soft, fudgy, gooey and stacked with milk and white chocolate, it’s a recipe that never lets me down.

Brownies are a super versatile dessert, serve with cream or chop into pieces and make your very own ice cream sundae complete with strawberries and chocolate sauce. I was making these brownies as a gift to give to colleagues as part of a hamper so I simply placed them into cellophane bags, wrapped around a little ribbon and voila – perfect little gift bags of chocolate heaven.

Mini Chocolate Orange Cheesecakes

I’m back again with yet another “mini dessert” post! I love creating desserts in mini glasses for guests to grab from dessert tables. So when I was tasked with creating a Valentines themed table, I knew a cheesecake would go down a storm and would require next to no-time for me to put together.

The only problem was that I’d actually never made a cheesecake before! Shock horror I know – I have no idea why I hadn’t made these sooner since it was super easy, required very little ingredients and was extremely easy to assemble. With no baking time required, it meant I didn’t need to slave over the oven and I couldn’t wait to use my favourite Terry’s chocolate orange in a bake.

Valentine’s Dessert Table

img_4471

With Valentine’s day fast approaching I thought I’d throw it back to this little dessert table I put together for a Valentine’s party last year. Any excuse for a party (and one that includes desserts) and I’m there in a heartbeat – who said Valentine’s day is only for couples? I plan on throwing another party this year with friends and family and can’t wait!

For those wanting to throw a Valentine’s party, or for those who simply want to put together a dessert table just so they can gorge on all the sugar themselves, hopefully this’ll provide some inspiration.

Picnic Party

img_4382

Hello all – it’s been a while hasn’t it? Excuse my absence but I come baring ‘gifts’ – a post dedicated to an indoor picnic party I threw last year!

This birthday party was originally planned to take place outdoors, but we know how unpredictable the British weather is so I was forced to bring it indoors at the very last minute. With my little sister turning 10, I knew the party needed to be fun but not too “childish”.

Garlic Dough Balls

img_0897

A short and sweet post for you today demonstrating how easy it is to make some of your restaurant faves in the comfort of your own home!

Any trip to Pizza Express is never complete for me without their dough balls – I can’t resist not ordering them, especially with the addition of the garlicky butter. So I thought what better than to try and recreate this at home. Now, I hear you cry, is it really worth the effort?

Chocolate Swirl Buns

Last weekend I was immersed in the vortex of YouTube – you know those moments where you’re intending to watch just one video but end up 2 hours later still glued to the screen? Yup. That was me. However, there was one positive that came out of my marathon YouTube viewing – I came across Donal Skehan’s channel. He has a plethora of easy to follow recipe videos on his channel including both cooking and baking – and he’s not bad on the eye too making the videos that much more enjoyable to watch ;).

Chocolate Chip Muffins

Over the summer I finally got to tick off one of my “to do’s” from my list – a trip to Brighton! I’ve haven’t been to Brighton in years so was super excited to finally be able to appreciate the sea and shops now that I’m older. It was a lovely day of aimlessly wondering around the town whilst basking in the rarely seen sun.

Now I can sense the confusion already – how on earth does Brighton relate to Chocolate Chip Muffins?? Well, whilst in Brighton I picked up these super cute paper muffin cases from a independent shop in the lanes. I fell in love with the pink polka dot pattern immediately and couldn’t wait to use them.

Biscoff Cake

fullsizerender-19

I very rarely dabble in the world of 3 tiered cakes but a special party meant I needed to produce something that had the WOW factor.

I was ready to take on the challenge but knew I wanted to bake something that was slightly different in flavour. After searching across the interweb, I came across this Biscoff cake recipe from Janes Patisserie (her blog is pretty awesome when it comes to playing around with flavours!) and I just had to give it a go.

Dessert Table #1

img_9480

I’m a big fan of dessert tables – give me a reason for a party and I’ll be the first person to jump up to create a table filled with desserts to fit the theme.

I think it makes the perfect addition to any party and I’m a sucker for taking something simple and transforming it to look pretty. Having a dessert table helps to give the room a focal point and keeps the guests waiting eagerly and on their toes till the table opens up!

Summer Berry Layer Cake

FullSizeRender (9)

With the sun out in full force, it can only mean one thing, evenings in the sunshine filled with BBQs, drinks and desserts! I always struggle to decide what to take along to gatherings such as these so when I stumbled across this berry cake online, I knew it would be the ideal item to bake for a summer party.

With layers of genoise sponge, cream and berries, it’s the perfect after dinner treat which will go down a storm with all the guests. Although the actual cake is quite tedious to make, once in the oven the assembling process is super easy and there’s nothing better than seeing a perfectly layered cake.
