I’m a big fan of dessert tables – give me a reason for a party and I’ll be the first person to jump up to create a table filled with desserts to fit the theme.
I think it makes the perfect addition to any party and I’m a sucker for taking something simple and transforming it to look pretty. Having a dessert table helps to give the room a focal point and keeps the guests waiting eagerly and on their toes till the table opens up!
I love this time of year and have been really getting into the festive baking spirit recently. I have a long list of goodies I want to bake and with Christmas fast approaching, I better get a move on!
I think adding a little christmassy touch to simple recipes completely transforms a bake. And you can’t get any better than having cupcakes, gingerbread and candy canes all in one recipe!
My baking cupboard has been getting larger and larger by the second recently and one thing that’s been on my baking wishlist for some time now are chocolate silicon moulds. Since we’ve had a pretty non-existent summer over here in the UK, the rainy days have kept me inside for far more than I would’ve liked. However, this involuntary confinement has had one positive – more baking sessions have been on the cards!
Last weekend, whilst it was pouring down, I thought I’d throw on my apron and revisit the recipe that fuelled my love of baking. These simple, minimum fuss cupcakes were the first ever cakes I made by myself. Fast forward a few years, and this is still the recipe I use whenever I bake.
